Some thoughts on the retirement of Mike Wallace...

Mike Wallace is retiring from 60 Minutes after 375 years as a journalist. Okay, maybe not that many years, but Mike is ancient as a motherfucker.

A bitch greeted this news with a sigh of relief…my ass will soon not have to fear Mike Wallace materializing on my porch with a camera and crew talking about ‘why won’t you go on the record!'…and sadness.

Mike Wallace has come a long way from the days of The Hate that Hate Produced. His legacy will overcome the complete imploded fucktitude of the CBS 60 Minutes Big Tobacco non-coverage…should we cover it?..but we tapped it!..no, we’ll get sued!..oh fuck it, but now we look like a bunch of assholes…scandal.

His is the legacy of a reporter and the stories that he reported.

Who could ask for more?

Go forth and golf, Mike Wallace...

I'm for judging Mike Wallace in balance ABB...

He started with 60 minutes "back in the day", when it began, in 1968. The idea of the expose` was not well received by the powers that be in those days ABB. Think of the dirty squirrelly epochs that never would have been exposed without 60 minutes since that time?!

Think of the times ABB, 1968,..Vietnam, assassination of Robert Kennedy, assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, along with other infamous events of lesser standing eating our nation from within.

With this in mind, you may understand why 60 minutes was needed in the first place. Personally I think it entirely possible, that Mike Wallace, and, the idea of the television expose` may have saved my butt!

Give the man his due sugar...

There are a few politicians that should follow Mike's lead and retire for the sake of the nation.

Got a nice laugh from "Pots trash talking kettles..."

Better he should go out in his quiet blaze of glory as opposed to the sadness that accompanied Peter Jennings or the tomfoolery that surrounded Dan Rather.

You like my use of "tomfoolery"?

Don't be impressed. I wasn't.

Goodnight and good luck, Mike.

Hey ABB! nice post (this goes to "Special Anon"):

The problem, AS ALWAYS, with corporate-sponsored mass media is the release of 'stories' in a programatic way. If you think that 60 minutes exposed hot topics because they are 'concerned journalists' you are wrong. If you think they exposed issues of the day in a way that helped them reap corporate-based benefits and propagate emotion and their (at times) riduclously transparent agenda, you're right!

The values initiated by 60 minutes et al., have been continually applied to current mainstream media and we all have seen where that shit gets us. Fucking fuck!

Hmmm, you mean that Mike Wallace is a real person? So ends my theory that he was really an animatronic character.

It's too bad his son, Chris Wallace, is not the one retiring. I would much prefer enjoying several more years of Mike and the total disappearance of his sleazeball son.
